Are you kidding me?

I may be on the short side of this stick, however, I do not believe in 'God'. I hate having to qualify this statement with everyone that chooses to discuss the topic of 'religion' with (or in most cases AT) me. If you dont wanna know my views then don't bring it up! How infantile to start a discussion and when you hear something that you don't like you tell the person they ae wrong. Who says? You? Whatever! Most people say, 'Well, the King James Version says.....,' The funny part about this? Most of them totally skip over the VERSION part of the title!

Hello! The 'version' most people quote is just that....the 'version' that King James thought was appropriate for the people. Do we know what he took out? No. Do we know what he added? No. So why tell me that I am wrong b/c King James says so? LOL

However, this whole convo started with a friend of my Moms that was at the house and decided to go on a tirade about 'queers' (ummmmm....ONLY 'queers' are allowed to use that word! the rest of us are stuck with gay or homosexual {NOT homo}). So anyway, I had to ask her--as I am wont to do--why it was wrong to be gay. Her answer was the universal cop-out 'Because the Bible says so!' As if that makes it OK. The Bible also says it is OK to sell your daughter to your Brother-in-law for a cow, but that doesn't make it OK. The Bible says that whores should be stoned to death, but that doesn't make it OK.

I say, let's agree to disagree on the whole subject. You can go read your little book of fairy tales and I will just live by the 10 Commandments, which after all, is the only part of the Bible worth living by.

PS....is it just me, or has anyone else noticed (especially in our society of 'living' by the Bible) that only 2 of the Commandments are actually laws? talk about things that make you go 'Hmmmmmm'!

PPS....for those wondering, I do believe in a Superior Being and spirituality, I just do not believe in the 'God' that the Bible speaks of.

Later, Taters
