Huge post ahead...

This from an email I received today:

CHRISTMAS STAMP How ironic is this??!! They don't even believe in Christ and they're getting their own Christmas stamp, but don't dream of posting the ten commandments on federal property? [This isn't even relevant, because - as the email clearly states later - it commemorates the EID Muslim Holiday, so they are not getting a Christmas stamp---they are getting a holiday stamp. -- Luna.]

USPS New Stamp [I couldn't get the stamp to load, but it is very beautiful. . .and Muslim. :) -- Luna] This one is impossible to believe.

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of PanAm Flight 103!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the military barracks in Saudi Arabia!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American Embassies in Africa!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on 9/11/2001!
REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks!

Now the United States Postal Service REMEMBERS and HONORS the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class holiday postage stamp.
REMEMBER to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp when purchasing your stamps at the post office. To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors. [The email ended with pleas to 'foward immeadiately. -- Luna]

This was my reply:

I will not be forwarding this email as it is COMPLETELY wrong to exclude people on the basis of their religion...sure, the people who committed those atrocities are MUSLIM, but CHRISTIANS are the ones that enslaved an entire race, and CHRISTIANS are the ones that almost eliminated an entire race...I don't hold those actions against ALL Christians, therefore I will not be holding ALL Muslims responsible for those acts committed by a select few.....Lurve ya...me :)

PS...had the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT treated the Muslims of Afghanistan better than we did after they won the Afghanistan/Russian war of the 80's better, they wouldn't be attacking us all over the place....we are only reaping what our leaders have sown

PPS...I have to research this, but I think Pan Am 103 was blown up by the IRA...I *cough* could be wrong, though ;) [I was totally wrong! The bomb was attributed to the Lybians. -- Luna]

There are fanatics in every religion, Islam is no exception. It is my hope that most (if not all) people realise that almost every item on the list is in some way related to Osama bin Laden. It is not as if there are a jillion different Muslims that are doing this.

On the entire fucking stamp issue. . .the fuck? Hanukkah, Kwaanza, Madonna & Child, etc. are all stamps issued by the USPS. Now, I'm not Jewish, Black, or Catholic, but it doesn't bother me that they have stamps, for fucks sake! And I'm sorry, but shouldn't it bother us that a bunch of baby rapers have their own stamp? Why is no one complaining about that?! Nevermind...I'm ranting again...I tend to do that.

I would like to add to that it really is unacceptable to exclude anyone on the basis of anything, whether it be religion, race, sexual preference, if they are fat, too short, ugly, don't wear the right clothes, listen to the right music, etc. And the world would be a better place if we could all remember that.
